Sandy underfoot at first, the beach has a long and gentle slope into the sea, remaining shallow for quite a long distance. This makes it quite a family-friendly seafront, but it also means that, when the tide goes out, it goes a long way. This exposes some sharp rocks and dead coral, so considerable care is advised during low tides.
